In honor of a community organized on the basis of honor and affection:
I just returned from ten days in Israel with an amazing group of 36 Five College students, 7 Israeli soldiers, and a talented staff. Taglit-Birthright Israel is an amazing opportunity.
In addition to getting to know a great group of bright, energetic, and interesting students--I saw Israel from a new light--that of first-time visitors struggling with taking ownership of their Jewish identity.
